I love you because:
(1) I feel like you're the only one who can understand what it's like to feel so alien to the world by virtue of trying to understand it more deeply than our peers. I have never met a woman who I knew shared this sense of disillusionment, and who I could confide in with full confidence that she understood where I was coming from. You are the only woman in my life that makes me feel not alone in this respect. In you, I find a true peer.
(2) You are the only woman I know who tries hard to be good, and succeeds. You try to be a good daughter, a good friend, and a good partner, and I know that every decision you make is consciously motivated by these desires. At your heart, you are a fundamentally selfless person--even though the stringency of your behavior often reads as rigidity or a refusal to compromise, when you scratch just a little deeper, this inflexibility is only an extension of the commitment you have to the selfless values that underpin that behavior.
(3) I have never detected an iota of deceit, dishonesty, or malice in anything you say or anything you do. You always pick the better angels of your nature, and because of that, you have become someone I can rely on wholeheartedly, and someone I can trust to weather my own more turbulent and fickle nature with love, understanding, and more importantly, the ability to ensure that in the end, we both continue to adhere to our shared values. Your commitment to your values--to our values--has made you my rock, and the center of my life.
(4) Even as you consistently perform stubbornness and inflexibility, you are someone I have come to understand as one who consistently grows, changes, and seeks to get closer to the truth in any way she can. When push comes to shove, I have never known you to put your ego above what you know is good or true--even if it takes you a little bit sometimes.
(5) You show me you love me and make me a part of your life in everything you do, big and small. Whether it be how you make your home my own, how you have made my friends your own, and how you've warmly invited me to be involved in every part of your world. In your spirit, I have never found a door that was closed to me. In you, I have found a home for my thoughts, my dreams, and my heart.
